How to Drill Press Tealight Candles

Stave tips can be found by the miter saw.

Put 1-5/8" Forstner Bit in drill press. Set up jig according to instructions on jig.

Set depth on drill press so the bit is about 1/8" above the table when pressed all the way down.

Set drill press speed to 640 RPM.

Select stave tip, make sure it is wider than the minimum, as marked on jig.

If the stave tip is too short, place the spacer block in front of it. This should help center the hole in the stave.

Hold the stave firmly while lowering the bit. After contact, go slowly all the way to max depth, 5 seconds so it doesn't stall out.
